Hi friends! So, due to persisting and blatant racism in my neighborhood, me and my husband are basically being forced to move out by the end of April.
I won’t bore you with the whole story (unless you want to know, in which case, please message me).

So, a brief summary of why we need to move out ASAP:

– First incident: neighbor calls cops and gives an anonymous tip saying that there’s “too much traffic” in and out of our house. They also accused us of selling drugs, which we don’t. There is a retired Marine, soldier, and my husband is currently enlisted. We all work and stay very quiet. Cops showed up and gave the homeowner, my best friend a citation and she had to pay a $150 fine. She’s on a fixed income, so that was a stiff fuck you. This was 5 months ago.

– Second incident: Neighbor accused my dog of shitting on his lawn while my husband was walking him. My husband told him that she didn’t, the neighbor realized he was wrong and apologized. A week later, my friend, a Black man, was walking the same dog and the neighbor accused her of shitting on his lawn AGAIN. My friend told him that she hadn’t and the man threatened to call the cops if my friend didn’t come back and clean up the shit. He actually called the cops on my friend, but the cop went away once he realized no one was going to answer the door. This was a month ago.

– Third incident: Just two days ago, the same anonymous neighbor called the cops on us AGAIN with the same complaints about “too much traffic”. Which is horseshit because we all have our own cars in the household. That’s five cars. We’re allowed to own and drive as many cars as we want and there is no law against “too much traffic”. They’re accusing us of selling drugs because me and my friend are Black in a white ass neighborhood.

I am so tired of being harassed by my neighbors via the police. We got another citation, over an occupancy permit, and now me and my husband both have a court date. I’m not sure if we’ll get fined, but if we do, it’ll take a chunk out of our savings for an apartment.

The court date is April 27th, and we need to be moved out of our house before then. I know that’s not a very wide time frame, but we are desperate. My depression is fucking me up due to the stress and I’m unemployed now because my former job cut back on hours and I had to quit. I just want to move out of this town and into a place we feel safe.
