what are the drugs they’re given? well, the most common is Lupron or leuprolide. Other applications of the drug include:
parents who want their daughters to get taller, or,
parents who are grossed out by their kids’ puberties when they happen faster than they expected.
once again, trans kids are getting victimized by people who don’t care about facts or contexts, and who rely on straw man arguments to spread fear tactics that compromise kids’ wellbeing and physical safety.

I see well-meaning people getting duped by misinformation about trans kids’ medical treatment WAY too often. People with an agenda of hate tell sensationalist stories that simply don’t match up with reality, and scare a lot of parents who might otherwise support their kids.
Informing people about the actual reality can save those kids’ lives.
Yes, yes, yes! And well-meaning people that double down on the topic instead of doing some fact-checking of their own are not helping anyone! Education and accurate information is so important.
Had a discussion with my brother about this recently, because he came across a Reddit thread where he could tell both sides were being stupid. (“Trans people need to stop giving 4 year olds sex hormones!” “It is a totally great idea to give 4 year olds sex hormones!”)
Like most people, my brother was super happy/relieved to have useful, accurate information on the topic so he could have a supportive, non-bigoted stance that also reconciled with his common sense.
