I’m just super fucking bitter that once the flint water crisis got it’s 15 minutes of fame people stopped giving a shit. The water is still poisoned, people! Donations have plummeted and people have been forced back into drinking and bathing with the water! The medical effects of this are astounding, cases of legionnaires disease have skyrocketed, people are having seizures, people are having weird rashes break out over their body, people (including me!) are having their blood poisoned, and it’s not just lead! it’s coliform bacteria! it’s THMs! it’s all in the water and it gets into the bloodstream and breaks down blood vessels, causing bruising and petechiae and internal bleeding and no one gives a shit anymore and it’s only gotten worse like how many people are going to have to die until people realize this is still a problem

I would like to add that the people of Flint cannot sell their houses, because selling a house with leaded water is illegal. Additionally, households with children can’t stop paying for the water because living in a house without running water is cause for CPS to take their kids. Flint has been living this way for over two years.

The people of Flint are trapped by the legal system. And it is only the most high profile case out many cities with a similar problem.

Because the government has abandoned them, they are dependant on help from the outside. Donate here

If u can’t donate, reblog so someone else can!!!

Art Fight 2017!

queijac:

Starting again on July 1st is my favorite online artist event: Art Fight! If you have OCs, and enjoy making and receiving art involving OCs, then I highly suggest you check out the site and set up an account!

For those who aren’t familiar with Art Fight, here’s a brief overview:

Each year, participating artists are split into two teams.

The main goal is to find any artist from the team opposite yours, and ‘attack’ them by drawing art of their ocs! Your team receives points based on what you create.

Artists that receive attacks can then ‘counter’ by drawing an OC belonging to the person who fought them!

The official about page with more in depth information is located here!

Art Fight is a great chance to interact with tons of different artists, get to know the amazing OCs that others have created, and have a lot of fun making art! The art you receive is also very exciting; you never know who may attack you!

The event lasts a month (July 1st – August 1st), and the team with the most points by the end wins!

My account can be found here, if anyone feels like attacking me! I hope to see you there!!

One of my fave tropes in media is when children form a group meeting to make sure their parents have a great day for days like Mother’s/Father’s day or their birthday like it makes me feel so warm and happy

Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr’s office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It’s a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.

If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won’t stick around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won’t want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

I don’t care what your blog theme is, this can save someone’s life and needs to be spread

Alright, this is a good thing to know but be careful.

Now a days car alarms are getting more and more ignored, just like high pitched screaming. People used to be very surprised and turned and payed attention to these thing but now it has become background noise. It no longer really matters if a car is panicking because that’s not important anymore. Call the police if you hear someone breaking into your home, there’s a rape defence class called “RAD women” (rape aggression defense) look it up, it’s 3 weeks long but it helps. Just a few tips that help before I end this.

Don’t scream, like high pitched. Yell “No” every time you strike a foe, as in if you punch a dude in the face yell no, not only will it help you hit harder it actually draws attention.

Pay attention to your surroundings, if someone is acting suspicious pay attention to them.

If someone grabs you, dead weight. It’s hard to carry just dead weight, keep yelling no.

Now if someone is trying to choke you, lift their arm and stick your nose between their elbow, then you can breath.

Now I can’t stress this enough, being on your feet is safer than on your back, but if it comes to ground defense, protect your safe areas, and always turn to face them.

Try not to get stuck in corners, thats just obvious.

Please stay safe out there, travel in groups because it’s much safer than travelling alone.

Try to remember this, try to get into classes because it will help you so much, I promise.
