This is us. My fiancée is nonbinary (they/them) and they just got into college to get their second degree. We’ve been trying to find a place to live for the last couple of months, but because they’re a student and I just started working a few months ago (I was a student myself until April due to an infection from surgery), we don’t have the income to be approved unless we have a cosigner. And my parents refuse to sign for us. But that’s a story for another time (if ever).
So yeah blah blah blah my parents are homophobes and I’m not really talking to them right now. Anyway, I wanna get two tattoos. It costs $80 (I just went to the tattoo parlor and had it priced). This is what I wanna get:

I used to doodle this on my arm all the time when I was growing up, so I’d love to get it tattooed on me. I don’t even want a professional drawing of a butterfly. I’m literally gonna bring in this drawing and be like: “Trace it.”
If anyone is rich and wants to drop a few thou just because, be my guest lmao But more realistically, if anyone wants to contribute to my only birthday present this year I’d be so happy and may even sing for you if you want. Iunno. lol
work has been ungodly slow the last few weeks and i’m down to less than a dollar in my bank account, and if my phone is shut off then i lose my access to the internet & work 😦

back when i was suicidal in high school the tiniest things would make me want to kill myself but also the most trivial things would stop me
i remember looking at a bottle of sleeping pills and going “i’m going to kill myself. i’m not going to get out of this town. i’m not going to be able to get into a good college” and then i would go “but wait! if you die tonight, you won’t be there when they invent time travel. what if you die tonight and aliens land tomorrow and you miss it. the entire world would change and you would miss it.” “ah, yes. good point. i’ll wait until next week to die. once i’m dead i’m dead, so i can wait a little longer to see if something cool happens before then.”
it never did but it brought me back from killing myself until i started seeing a psychologist and got on antidepressants
people are re-blogging this and i dont mind b/c they’re relating to it so that’s nice if it’s helping ppl understand
the whole “you have so much to live for!” idea was nice and well intentioned, but i felt like people were just spouting bullshit at me because i didn’t. i didnt have any friends or dates or talents. i had nothing to really live for.
but things like “oh, well if you die now you won’t be able to find out who jon snow’s mother is” did help. because i went “oh, well i’ll finish this book to figure out if my theory is right first.” because i was going to die anyway so a few more hours wouldn’t hurt and by the end of the book i felt less suicidal.
also years later i found out i was right about my theory.
This exact thing has helped me so much. Things like, “Well you can’t now because it’s Thanksgiving and you’ll ruin it, wait until after” “well now it’s almost Christmas so do it next year” “Well you can’t before you see how Game of Thrones ends” “Think of all the cats you haven’t pet yet” the trivial things have always helped me more than the whole, “people will miss you, you have so much to live for”
Find something to make you hold on a little longer, even if you take it hour by hour or day by day. Even if it’s just something like, “Well if I die tonight I won’t get to eat my leftover Chinese food tomorrow” it helps.
It’s going well! I’ve been working on this kinda big thing for the past few days which is why you guys haven’t seen any art from me in a while. I’m not sure how long it’ll be, but I’ll post it as soon as it’s done 😀

Gods yes! Fanfiction is an invaluable tool for getting the hang of writing well, especially if you’re stuck on something original. Sometimes a break in others toy boxes is a nice breather.
tumblr is massively wrong about the Amazon strike and there are a few key people trying to get the right information out and y’all are too focused on sticking it to Amazon to bother getting it right. @brainstatic started noticing yesterday that the dates people were posting were funky and @janothar started posting that even the Spanish strike isn’t starting on the 10th and yet y’all are still spreading this like it’s fact. I honestly have not seen a damn thing about the strike literally ANYWHERE but tumbr so I decided to use our good friend google and here’s what I’ve found.
There are a handful of other sites reporting that the strike started on the 10th and that other EU countries are participating; however, as @brainstatic pointed out already, these all link back to the same .info site that is not reliable and is not backed by reliable news sources (unlike Reuters, which is a reliable news source). The Observer article that links to the .info site above also literally uses tumblr’s “the boycott starts on the 10th” as a source for the boycott starting on the 10th… meaning that TUMBLR started those rumors, not the Observer article, and there is no reliable source for the boycott starting on the 10th other than the fact that y’all made that shit up and some online news source picked it up and ran with it. You can’t use an article that sites you as the source as a source for your bullshit. Got it?
If you want to support the striking workers, know when they are striking and what they want from you. Know what the actual activists involved are calling for. Know when and where the strike is taking place. As of right now, the strike is ONLY in Spain, it is 3 days long starting on the 16th, and it is ONLY focused around Prime Day. It did not start yesterday on the 10th. It is primarily about raising wages and other similar issues in Spanish factories, which are unionized already. It is not about people dying in American Amazon factories. Having half-assed, half-researched boycotts here and there that do not correspond to the strikes and are not well coordinated is not going to make a point. Having an organized, well-informed, large movement is what gets your point across. So stop what you’ve been doing and do this right. Boycott Prime Day and stop spreading misinformation.
