Sometimes things happen that don’t really make you sad, but more surprised something like that could ever happen. Like, wow, I can’t believe that happened and to be honest I still don’t believe it very much. Wow

No. Just no. Ok?

So I used to make this joke all the time. Now I have chronic tinnitus. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s nerve damage in your ears which often comes as a result of being constantly exposed to very loud noise for a long period of time. The nerve damage results in a constant ringing/buzzing in your ears. So far there’s no cure. The severity of it varies, and I’m lucky to have a mild case, which I can barely hear during the day and is easy to block out at night. That said, loads of people with tinnitus aren’t so lucky. Severe tinnitus can’t be blocked out. Those who suffer from it also suffer from severe loss of sleep, depression, anxiety…. the list goes on. Tinnitus also comes with a degree of hearing loss in most cases, making it even harder to ignore. In fact, some people with severe tinnitus kill themselves just to make the ringing stop. Tinnitus can be so severe that it drives a person to suicide. Chronic tinnitus used to mostly be prevalent in older people who worked for years with loud machinery etc, but all of a sudden it’s becoming more common in our generation. Why? Because of people, like me, who listened to their music too goddamn loudly through their headphones.

Deaf by the time you’re 20? Please. That’s the least of your worries.

Please reblog. This post reminded me to move my music further away and turn it down. Someone else may need to be more cautious of their shit too.

Chronic mild tinnitus here, too, due to too many metal concerts in my youth.  Turn your headphones down a little.  Wear earplugs at concerts.  Protect your ears.

Your eyes have an iris that can shrink down, and eyelids that can squint shut, to protect them from light that is too bright. Your ears have NOTHING to block out sounds that are too loud. It’s up to you.

Tinnitus sufferer from drumline in high school checking in. These days I wear earplugs at concerts, rehearsals, clubs, and even movies sometimes. Get yourself a set that look like these ones:

Etymotics Research was one of the first companies I’m aware of to widely market with this
sort of ear plug, and they’re great, because they reduce noise fairly
evenly across the spectrum, and so you hear everything accurately, just
quieter.  While they’re certainly more expensive than the foam earplugs
that you see everywhere, they also are washable and last for months and
months, and sound great, if not better than without  for live music.  Please protect your ears.  There is no way to recover lost
hearing.

I started following this girl and her whole dash ended up these. And her last post. I can’t even say words. Anons took her life. If that okay with you, then carry on with your day. If you agree this is unacceptable and okay, then reblog and spread the word. What you say can actually change a persons life! So help out

I don’t care if this makes your dash look ‘ugly’, no matter what type of blog you have you should reblog it.

If you can’t reblog this, I pity you as a human being.

;~;

This is sickening. This is why I fuckin hate most anons. Most are just pure assholes. Bullies. But I realized something. They only hate on others cause their life is miserable. So they make others miserable to try and be happy. They need something to vent their pain on

No…..I will always Reblog this….This just isn’t right

if you don’t reblog shame on you..

So honestly think twice, and even actually think way moooooore than twice before sending anon hate and ending up being a cyber murderer…

Okay, I never reblog things, but this? people have no excuse to be treating others like that, nothing can justify your terrible actions, you horrible people, I feel so mad at those assholes.. I mean come on! The world would be a better place if you kept your shitty opinions for you, it’s not my fault if you’re an asshole but at least you could keep it for yourself instead of making the world an ugly place….

//This is awful. Why would you do something like this? How can you be so fucking cruel  to other person that didn’t do anything to you? This is just… Horrible and you’re a horrible person, you have no excuses.

I’m sorry but why the fluff do you do this? Does it bring you some sick joy to see someone break down? To be the reason why an actual person kills themselves? Not only in it just plain wrong but you can be given fines and even be arrested for that. And don’t think you’ll never be caught because you’re on anon. The police can easily trace your I.P address and track you down. Please, a little bit of constructive criticism is fine, sometimes even asked for. But this is horrible.

Oh~ And I’ve found something for these anons. If this happens actually anyone can find you with an easy search.

Here is a Tumblr post that tells people what to do.

That’s the most disgusting thing possible. Why would anyone encourage someone to commit suicide? If anyone’s sending those messages to you, ignore them. You are good, you are brave, you are beautiful. It might not feel that way at the minute, but wait. Hold on a little longer, and I swear it will all work out.

This is disgusting. Please know that you are all worth it. You are all needed in some way and that you matter. Don’t let anyone damper that.

Well, we see all this shit going about…

Here’s an example of why u DON’T send hate…

Stop with that shit and go find something that’s gonna give u some sort of joy, cos spreading this hate isn’t gonna do shit for u, or anyone else.

Stop…and move on with ur life…

See this right here is part of what almost killed me last summer. I had other stuff going on mentally but seeing in my inbox over and over again negative things the monsters in my head were saying too just pushed. Pushed so far I was ready, made a plan, and waited for my family to leave the house so I could be alone to go through with my plan. Kind people saved me from myself but there are too many unkind people out there who are pushing and pushing those already on the edge. Stop pushing before you cause someone to go over that edge. It doesn’t solve anything, it just causes problems for people you don’t even know about.

I don’t understand what kind of sick pleasure people get from this. You could fucking kill someone. Someone could be having the worst day possible, everything could be going wrong, and one stupid hate message could make them go over the edge just because you couldn’t keep your fucking goddamn mouths closed. People are fucking dead because of shit like this.

If I even get ONE ask or submission in my inbox telling me to go kill myself, im turning anons off.
Jesus christ, the hate anons need to get fucking banned or something. Tumblr should be able to track who the person behind the anonymous is and BAN them.
You can actually get arrested for telling someone to go kill themselves. I’m not lying or joking here. You get in serious trouble. ._. This hate needs to stop.

Anons like this are f***in disgusting. Are you proud, Anons? Does it make you laugh or smile knowing you caused suicide? People like you hate Anons are sick excuses for human beings. I’m sure there’s a special place for people like you in hell. Saying things like this is the last straw for anything!

Don’t let others say those things a make you take your life. There are many people who care for you, and they are to blind to see that, and let their mouths run an fingers type before they think; if they even think at all with those morbid minds thinking that this kind of trash IS OKAY TO DO. I’m at my last nerve with this crap, I swear to god I want to strangle those hate Anons. Such shame behind that pixelated screen. Hope your proud hate Anons, id like to see you laughing when you get this crap thrown in your face. Don’t take your life, you have a life to live and people that love you. Don’t let those hate Anons get to you. You are loved, and no one can say otherwise. I feel bad for this person that took their life.. May they rest in peace..

oh-my-god…..I can’t even- I don’t know what to say… please reblog….

Can someone only tell me this…? WHAT THE HELL IS WROMG WITH ALL THIS ANONS!!!!??!!!!

So I found this app called Scan Halal where you scan the bar code of your food and it tells you if its halal or not. It’s a free app too. Pass this on so others can see and worry a little less about their food/snack choices

Yessss, it is very handy especially in non-muslim countries

If you reblog this for no other reason, do it because it’ll piss off Pauline Hanson. And pissing off Pauline Hanson is reason enough to do anything.

Pissing off Pauline Hanson is my favourite pass time

If you reblog this for no other reason, reblog it to make a Muslim feel safer, more accepted, and/or more informed about food.

Other people and their needs are not your game pieces to use to offend others or make yourself feel better.

Tumblr’s violating your privacy by default again

solluxisms:

Hey guys, a quick note. Tumblr just added a ‘feature’ that shows if you’re online or not. The only place I see it is in the messenger, though it might be elsewhere. It’s showing a friend as online even though they just have a tumblr tab open that they haven’t looked at in hours. It also shows how long ago they were active. I don’t know how it interacts with the app.

I have a few problems with this:

  • I personally don’t like the feeling of being stalked
  • People could actually stalk you
  • Person A could get mad at Person B because it said Person B was online but they weren’t (and thus didn’t respond) – or just wasn’t up to talking
  • Person X could message Person Y and get anxious when person Y doesn’t respond, since it says they’re online

I found the place to turn it off in account settings. There’s a section called “Availability” where you can toggle off the functionality.
