You know what, I’m so pissed off about this that I’m gonna make a Tumblr post about it
So we’ve had yet another huge snow storm here in Wales, only THIS time, it managed to take only a few hours to cover as much ground as the last one did, which took about 2-3 days. When that happened, everyone in the school was told to stay home for 2 days because it got so bad.
For those who don’t know, schools in the UK have year groups instead of grades, and it’s most common to have 5 year groups going from year 7 to year 11.
I received a notification from my school’s app saying that the school will be closed tomorrow for years 7-10. Only years 7-10. Which means my fucking year group is the only group that has to go in. And you know why?
Because our exams are coming up in 6 weeks and we can’t afford to miss any work.
I’m sorry but if you think it’s too dangerous for 4 out of 5 year groups to come into school, what fucking right do you have to say we have to come in just because we have exams coming up? Yes, exams are important, but not more important then our fucking safety.
This seriously is a HUGE red flag for what my school is actually like. The student’s health and well-being? Fuck that! They have exams that they need to do work for!
I swear, if I end up slipping on the ice tomorrow in school, I’m blaming them.
